Modifying your client to run with the 'serverpacks' mod will be required this time. If you run an unmodded client, a huge portion of the server will not render properly for you. To get the required mods, and begin modding your client:

  1. start by downloading the latest version of the client patcher HERE (client-modlauncher-0.15.zip).

  2. Extract the files into your game directory (...Steam\steamapps\common\Wurm Unlimited\WurmLauncher). This should also give you the mods folder with both serverpacks and custommap, both of which will be REQUIRED.

  3. Run patcher.bat to update your launcher with your downloaded mods.

  4. From here, you should be good to launch! If at any time you want to add/remove more mods, just be sure to put them in your mods folder and run the patcher.bat file again.

NOTE: If you try running patcher.bat with a server mod instead of a client mod in your mod folder, you won't be able to launch. (Should be fixed by removing the offending mod and running patcher.bat again).

Recommended Client Mods:

  • Serverpacks(included in the client patcher linked above) is REQUIRED for this server. Weapons, items, and dungeons will not render properly without this mod!

  • Livemap(HERE): Gives you a good minimap, useful when planning deed locations/structures and navigating mines.

  • Compass(HERE): Improves the compass on the hud, also shows position data when hovering over it.

  • ImprovedImprove(HERE): Makes improving items much easier.

  • MaxToolbelt(HERE): Always have the max sized toolbelt. Makes the UI less cumbersome.

  • Timelock(HERE): Use the console to set the time of day. See outside easier for treasurehunts, and enjoy the ambiance of night when crafting at home. Note: see the thread HERE for info on how to use it.

  • NEW Distant Rendering(HERE): See trees much farther in the distance. This can be a heavy load on lower end equipment, but you'll get a much more immersive view. Download and configuration instructions are in the linked post.

There are loads of other mods for more advanced configurations, most of which can be found in the thread HERE. Just make sure you stick to the client section for mods. If you try running patcher.bat with a server mod, you won't be able to launch. (Should be fixed by removing the offending mod and running patcher.bat again).
